It has been reported that Guy Ritchie is set to start filming the newest adaptation of the world's great detective Sherlock Holmes in the next few months, with a possible release date being rumoured to be 2010. Robert Downey Jr is all set to play the great man himself, and Ritchie has stated that he aims to be as faithful to the original Conan-Doyle character as possible. However, Ritchie's reading of the original character includes a man who was involved in plenty of action, and one of the challenges the film hopes to overcome, given that it will be the first Sherlock Holmes film adaptation for many years, will be making use of modern technology and filming techniques that have been unavailable to previous directors of the remarkable sleuth.
